Description
Hello,
I have an IC-R20 scanner, with the provided cloning software CS-R20. This scanner has an USB port for cloning, internally it's a usb to serial converter, and the device is /dev/ttyUSB0 at 9600Baud.
Adresses are the same than other Icom models : $EF for computer and $EE for IC-R20. Model number is $26 $99 $00 $00
Sample files are provided in this ticket. I can capture serial communication between device and computer. I plan to modify an existing device file to test this software with my device.

I don't do remote development because it's just too hard and it takes too much time. Are you saying you're interested in writing the driver? If so, please join the development list and we'll be glad to help you along.
Thanks!

Yes I can try to write this driver, I was actually trying to develop software in Python for this device, when I found your project on Google :)

Thanks.
Reading memory is already working, the real difficult is to understand the memory layout. I need to do reverse engineering on the CS-R20 software.
I can add new language support (French) to this project.

Hello,
I have found the memory entry format. Now, I have to write simple driver to test reading data.
Irc file format is just memory snapshot, no coding, just hexadecimal values. So I can use CS-R20 software to save different ICF files with few changes to find settings.
Here is the memory layout for simple frequencies records. There are 1000 memory entries for freqs.

Is there any progress with adding IC-R20 support to Chirp?
Maybe I could help writing the driver?
