Hi Jerry,

CHIRP v0.4.x does not support the BF-F8HP (which the BF-F9V2+ is basically a close twin). Also the current CHIRP v0.4.x should not be used with Baofeng/Pofeng radios of the UV-5R (and variant) variety, including the BF-F8HP, BF-F9V2+ and possibly the UV-82 series.

Update to the latest CHIRP daily build and use Vendor=Baofeng and Model=BF-F8HP and give that a go.

And if you wouldn't mind, attach your "factory" CHIRP .img file from this radio if you have it. Attach any CHIRP .img file from this radio if you don't.

Let me know how this works.

That worked great, thanks. Attached is the factory img file I downloaded from the radio using the daily chirp build.

Jim,
I am having the same issue listed here. The program will download in UV-5R, but not upload. BF-F8HP does not appear as a model option. I tried downloading and uploading in an older version of Chirp, but to no avail.
Suggestions?
