I'm working on a driver now, it's functional on reading and updating channel data, I'm working on the settings part.

It will have a little more control on the settings that the FDX-288 Software from Feidaxin.

I need a few images of each models, to solve a radio identification issue and add support for the FD-268B (UHF) version, see the attached python script.

It's supposed to run in windows, you need to have a chirp installed and working on that PC and of course: the radio connected to the interface an this to the PC.

It will make upon success a file in your C:\ drive with the name fd-268-1.img with exactly 2.00 Kb of data, please email it to me to complete the support for this radio.

Attached is the img of the radio & patch to the main chirp.hg repository in alpha state (v0.1) it works fine in the memory editing part, I'm working on the settings, but the main issue is this:

I used the code in chirp_common to parse the tone data, and even so I can't get the bruteforce test to pass in the "cross" section this has me stuck on this; despite this result in the test, I ran a series of test and the software works fine on programming and reading the radio channel data.

Any advice will be of great help, I'm a junior python coder...

In the setting parts, in the code are the read and show part (get_settings) i will working on the set_settings part

Also I previously attached a python (windows) script called fd268.py to get a dump of the Feidaxin FD-268A and possibly of the Feidaxin FD-268B version, if any of you has a B version please use it to get the img of it and please send it to me by email.

Ok, this is a beta test for those to dare to test it.

Drop the file attached to this post named "fd268.py" into your chirp\drivers\ folder (tested on linux, windows/mac must work)

Restart chirp, you are done, now you have beta support for the Feidaxing FD-268A in all operation regarding channel programming.

WARNING: this is a beta, please keep at hand a backup of the radio memory with official software, this is released just for testing pruposes

No settings yet, that will be the official release.

Thanks to Richard Meznarich the author of the request I got an aditional FD-268B and a FD-288 images and it looks promising, so up on finishing official support I will start to work on the FD-268B and probably the FD-288

If you dare to test it, please send me a note on this forum with errors/comments/etc.

FD-288B (UHF)

Thanks to Richard, the author of the issue for give me the 288 imgs of his radios to test.

It's like this driver will easily support this feidaxing models also, but I need real radios to test and validate it.

Full support for the FD-268 and other members of the family is on the daily build.

So this issue is closed, new bugs abut these radios must be a new issue.
