Baofeng UV-82 changes to specific options within Chips render manual key pad changes disabled

Description
Guys having some issue with some of the features in Chips. A few examples:
-After changing the power setting in Chirps on a per channel basis (Memories" tab) the power settings can no longer be altered manually with the radio it self. So if Channel 1 was set to "low" power according to the channel column labelled "Power" there is no way to change it to high power if the need arose, manually through the key pad of the radio. It shows that it changed but once it's confirmed on the radio and you exit the menu mode the setting remains on low power...this is a big issue.
-If the PTT ID is set using the "other" tab when viewing the Properties on a per channel basis, the radios "PTT-ID" toggle (menu #19) can't be altered. In fact if the radio menu #19 indicates "PTT-ID OFF" (which I thought was a global setting) the PTT ID will still function if Chirps has sett the PTT ID on a per channel basis.
I reset the radio using it's defaults through the radio's menus. I programmed a few frequencies in VFO mode. When I did, I was able to manually change power settings and enable/disable ANI operation (not the ANI sequence). I'm trying to analyse this a bit further to see if there is something I'm missing as to why the default configuration, when brought into Chirps allows the manual altering of power level, PTT ID, ect. when pushed back into the radio.

I was trying to get a better idea as to what is going on with this issue. I reset the radio to the defaults and then uploaded this image from the radio to Chirps. I then realized that the issue is with memory channels not VFO mode. If the radio is in VFO mode all the menu settings work as they should. However if you program the radio with some memory channels whatever is in the channel specific programming is written in stone...I guess. I understand this for features like offsets, PL and many other...but a power setting?? I guess this issue has nothing to do with Chirps it's a Baofeng issue. It's a hard sell for me to have the radio needing low power 95 percent of the time and not being able to alter that if needed without the PL programming software. On all of our commercial radios (Motorola HT1250) a button can be programmed for a toggle between hi/low power. On the other hand, lots of our older radios (GP300, P110, P200) are the same way...written in stone on a global or per channel basis. Oh well.

None of the per-channels settings of a Baofeng radio based on the UV-5R are editable from MR (frequency) mode. This is not a CHIRP issue. It is how the radio works. Even though the menus for the per-channel settings let you go through the motions, they are read only (that is you can only use them to see what the programmed setting is) and can't be used to make changes. The guides at the link below to show which mode each menu is available.

I stand corrected. It's the way the baofeng's work. I found a work-around by accident. When in memory mode if the keypad is unlocked, pressing the "#" key toggle the power setting. I wish the manual indicated this feature.
