Bug #2749
closedBf-F9V2+ Not responding
0%
Description
I have purchased four Bf-F9V2+ and am having trouble communicating to the radio through CHIRP. I have downloaded the newest version of CHIRP. I get errors "Radio refused clone", " Radio did not respond" and "Unknown response from radio" The radio will shut off and then come back on after attempting to download from radio. When The cable is plug into the radio, the radio is in transmitting I have tried trimming the plug end to get a proper seat.

Jim,
Most likely you have a USB programming cable that has an unauthorized copy of a Prolific USB-to-TTL chip. The device driver that is automatically installed by Windows is (intentionally) not compatible with this chip. You have to download, install and select the older (but compatible) Prolific v3.2.0.0 device driver.

Jim,
I have updated the Prolific driver to version 3.2.0.0 I still get errors "Radio refused clone", " Radio did not respond". The radio is no longer in transmit mode. When sending the command to download form radio, I get a green light and the radio reboots

Jim,
The second most common problem with programming these radios it not getting the 2-pin plug fully inserted into the socket. Some even have to press on it while the transfer takes place.

Jim,
Also if you mean by "downloaded the newest version of CHIRP" that you have installed and are using the v0.4.1 stable build, that won't work. You must use a recent daily build and select BF-F8HP as the radio model.
