Description

Hi everyone
Waiting with baited breath for a new version of CHIRP to come out with the updated program. In the meantime I was able to find a WORKING Prolific USB to UART interface for my Windows 7 pro 32 bit. This device has the same three wires as the rest, Red, White, Black or Shield.
With the universal interface 1/8 Stereo socket it has a number of specific adapters for different brands of radios. it has two different RJ-45 ends, a Single plug for the BaoFeng UV3r and duel plug for the U/V5R. and several more.

Using one of the two supplied 1/8 Stereo configs ends #1(Shield,TX,RX@tip) or #2(shield,RX,TX@tip). And using the Factory software the pc cannot read the from the radio. I've tried a number of available comm ports and different plugs with absolutely no success. I'd like to know if anyone else has had issues with the 1/8 Stereo socket on the from of the KT-8900R or KT-8900 radios? I've been able to use CHIRP with this dongle and the correct plug to read and reprogram all of my other radios with no problems. So the problem seems to be with the Radio itself or it has some strange wiring configuration I'm unaware of.
My question :
Has anyone else had any issues with the 1/8 stereo socket on the front of the KT-8900R or KT-8900 radios? If you have were you able to correct it? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
