Description

HI, I have a few pieces vgc vr - 6600pro, our original program for the programming of this radio is disastrous, I tried to read it using the radio profile BTech UV-50X3, to a certain point everything goes successfully, then pops up a window indicating an error. is there a possibility to add this radio to base operated radios ?? all users of radio VGC would certainly pleased, really do not need big changes to this radio was on the list of supported radios. Thank you for yours interest in my request.

Is there a possibility that you could use Portmon or some similar software to capture a download using the factory software? At the very least, would you attach a CHIRP debug.log containing the error?

CHIRP LOGS

Piotr,

Thanks for the logs. It seems that the radio is identified OK and the download begins without a problem, but eventually it gets to a point where the radio does not reply with the requested block. It did not happen at the same point of both logs. I'm thinking the radio is barely ready to receive the next block request after sending the previous one and after awhile a request is eventually missed.

Enable "Enable developer functions" in the Help menu and then use the "Load Module" function in the File menu to load the attached driver file and then try a download.

If successful, attach your CHIRP Radio Images (*.img) file.

If it fails, attach another set of debug.log file.

Thank you for the CHIRP serial port logs. I was just requesting that you send CHIRP serial port logs when they appeared from you. I will study them.

  • File vgc_ww.py added

I think I understand what the problem is (the VGC radio has the same "double command" bug as the the BTech radio, the effect of the bug is different). I don't know how to work around this difference yet.

If I am correct, the attached concept driver should download from the VGC radio. Test it and report back.

Good Morning Jim, you have a message on e-mail. Thank you.

I've been out of town.

I see I forgot to remark out a section of code that is needed for the UV50X3 but is not compatible with the VF-6600 Pro.

Try this.

I assume you are telling me the upload failed. I'll look into it.

If the upload failed, I will need a serial capture of the failed CHIRP upload. A debug.log file would also be useful.

I am attaching a rough concept of the code that should download successfully from both the BTech and VGC radios. It does work with my UV-50X3.

Also, I need to know if the VR-6600PRO has the 220 MHz band or not. I'm thinking it is a dual-band radio.

in European version is the possibility to unlock 220MHz

after unlocking in "tune mode"is additional menu item name "220 TX TUNE"

despite unlock tx does not work

my radios have locked 220MHz,I use only the V and U

The upload goes along fine then all of the sudden your radio returns a bad ACK. Here is a little more delay added between blocks.
