Description

I would like to make a request to get a new driver created for the Tytera TH-UV800D Handheld radio.

Hopefully someone more familiar with coding the driver portion can help with finishing this out.

I have used my radio with the factory software and the portmon utility to try an map out the memory for the unit and I believe I have been able to track down most of the critical functions. The only one I have yet to be able to figure out is where the "Scan Add" for each channel gets added.

The following version of the factory software was used for the captures.

http://www.tyt888.com/uploadfile/upfiles/20161206092106.rar

I have attached my spreadsheet that I tracked the changes for each setting in and the memory Map that I generated from it. Also attached are the captured traces.

If you require further items to be captured or tested then let me know an I will try it out with my radio.

I have 6 of these radios (actually TYT, not Tytera) for our county Emergency Operations Center. I also have 4 or 5 of the TYT UV8000E's (w/crossband repeat). The factory programming software is horrible and these 8-10 Watt radios are great for APRS/packet or temporary crossband repeat. They are vital to our EOCs mission, but such a pain to program.
I am willing to give one of each of these to the Chirp team for development of software.

I have been checking the support list for the addition of the TYT 8000 D/E for over a year, hoping Chirp would support it. Let this be my official request.
