I am also interested if there are any plans for a CHIRP update for the TYT UV 8000E. I see there have been requests since 2016 so I will remain hopeful that it will be in the works at some point. :)

I have 4 or 5 of these radios for our county Emergency Operations Center. I also have 6 of the TYT UV8000D's (w/crossband repeat). The factory programming software is horrible and these 8-10 Watt radios are great for APRS/packet or temporary crossband repeat. They are vital to our EOCs mission, but such a pain to program.
I am willing to give one of each of these to the Chirp team for development of software.
