Bug #5477
closedBaofeng GT-3TP not transmitting
0%
Description
I used chirp and was able to download the VHF Marine channels provided from the program. The radio will Rx from our base station however it will not Tx back. No feedback or anything from the Baofeng what so ever. Is there an issue with the Marine frequencies? My UV5 works great, just got new radios and thought everything would be fine.

What do you mean "will not Tx back"? When the PTT button is pressed, is there an indication of transmitting on the LCD display and from a red LED on the front of the radio? Does the "base station" use selective squelch? If it does, have you programmed the UV-5R to TX the matching CTCSS tone?

We have been having issues with the GT-3TP where it will transmit and receive in frequency mode but only receive in channel mode. It looks to be a large batch of radios that have this issue. Mine work fine but some of my friends are on their 4th replacement.

OK so today I looks like I have managed to get one working, unfortunately I don't know a great deal about CHIRP but I manged to get it working using the UV5 software and setting the max UHF frequency to 520 which not lets it transmit in channel mode. :)
