Description

I recently received a UV-82 DX, but I have been unable to connect to it via CHIRP. I have tried the UV-82HP option, UV-82 - each time I get an error message ="Incorrect 'Model' selected" - I also have a UV-82 and have no problem uploading from the UV-82 or downloading to it (using the same build of CHIRP, and same cable).

I have also downloaded the Baofeng UV-82 VIP software, and am able to connect to the UV-82 DX that way using the same cable.

From what I have read, I should be able to select UV-82HP and it connect to the DX, but I have not been able to.

Status changed from New to Feedback

Unfortunately these radios respond to the UV-82HP "magic" to initiate cloning but then report to CHIRP that they are a UV-5R (hence the "Wrong model selected" error).
