Description
One of my CERT members bought a Xuner X-780 Mini off eBay and the radio looks and functions an awful lot like my BTECH UV-2501+220. However, we can't get the radio to get into a clone mode and there was no programming software that came with it. I have tried using CHIRP using the BTECH UV-2501 setting (since his is a dual band) and it won't download information from the radio.
Is there anything that might be known about this radio on how to get it programmed through CHIRP? It's not listed on the supported radios. But, again, it functions and looks a lot like the BTECH UV-2501. The only difference is the markings. We also found during a start-up check that the version was M3G314. Other than that, I'm at a loss.

With this MCU-Version, I would recommend that you choose Vendor: QYT and Model: KT8900R

Did Jim's feedback help you, can we add this radio to the list of supported radios? Thanks.

- Subject changed from CHIRP Functionality w/ Xuner X-780 Mini to Xuner X-780 Mini
- Equipment Loan/Gift Offered set to No
We really would like to close this ticket. Can anyone confirm that the Xuner X-780 Mini works in Chirp when using the QYT KT-8900R selection?

Am really late to the party, but I can't make the current Chirp software((9/2021) talk to the Xuner X-780. Tried many similar radios on the list, including the QYT KT-8900R, to no avail. HELP!!

Please provide a debug.log file.
1 Open CHIRP
2 Use the QYT KT-8900R selection to attempt a download
3 Close CHIRP
Now attach the debug.log file to this issue. Instructions for locating the debug.log file in the 3 supported operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS) can be found on the "How To Report Issues":https://chirp.danplanet.com/projects/chirp/wiki/How_to_report_issues wiki page.
