Model affected:
Baofeng BF-f8hp (only?)
Platform:
Linux
Debug Log:
I read the instructions above:

Description

when I open an img of a BF-f8hp download (that has 30-ish channels programmed using previous versions of chirp, only the 1st channel is displayed. Ditto for a new download.

When I open an img of a uv5r download with a similar channel list, all the channels are displayed.

The installed version of chirp is:

CHIRP daily-20180707 on Linux - Ubuntu 16.04.4 LTS (Python 2.7.12)

The attached .img file was created on 2018/03/08 using whatever version of chirp was current at that time.

One way that I was able to get the rest of the channels to display was to set the memory range to 1/56 and hit refresh. After that, it worked consistently for the f8hp images.

I speculated that an old ~/chirp/chirp.config file may have been at fault, so I deleted the .config directory, etc. Subsequently, the f8hp file still displayed correctly.

At this point, this seems NOT to be a bug in chirp.

That's how CHIRP works. You can "narrow" the view of what channels are viewed to make it easier to edit larger lists. Normally for a UV-5R or UV-82, you would set the range from 0 to 127 to show the full range of 128 memories.
