Description

1- open chirp, upload, make changes, upload to radio, chirp stop halfway through, but radio is programmed, must restart PC, any thoughts?

2- multiple uploads and resets to radio uv-5rHP keeps same name wont change

Bryan,

Look in Device Manager to see which brand of USB-to-TTL chip the programming cable was manufactured with (see link below for instructions). If it is Prolific, you will either have to download, install and select an older Prolific device driver (V3.2.0.0 is recommended).

was a cable issue, I used a diff cable programmed perfectly! I have 2 cables and both were amazon 10$ no issues until now, def bought the FTDI chip one that is on the btech site apparently much better and no issues w prolific drivers etc
