I suggest a scare warning prior to enabling developer functions. For instance, if a user clicks "enable developer functions" under the help menu, pop up a warning message stating that misusing the developer functions may render your radio inoperable, and make them click a button to continue the enable process, or to cancel. This way, the user knows absolutely that they are fully on their own if they happen to brick their radio.

Adding this will most likely quell the complaints seen on various internet posts about CHIRP's ability to brick radios.
