openchirp-daily-20190104 Mac fails to launch

Description
Downloaded chirp-daily-20190104 on 10.14.2 (Macbook Air 2015). Launched item after allowing via Gatekeeper - it bounced and no GUI or indication that it's running.
Checked console, and all I see is this with Chirp in it:
All seen in event log is this:

MacOS Mojave 10.14.1 and Chirp Daily (chirp-daily-20190104.app.zip) installed fine but fails to download from Wouxun KG-UV9D Plus. Connects to Radio and Radio immediately reboots.
Error: Failed to communicate with radio: unpack requires a string argument of length 9
System Log Error: Jan 10 17:24:46 Garys-MBP com.apple.xpc.launchd1: Service exited due to SIGKILL | sent by CoreServicesUIAgent[446]
FAILS on 2nd Mac - Application does not start at all
