Description

Dan & Team
Thankyou for all the great work you do for all new HAM operators, as a new HAM I just bought BF-F8HP- Firmware version N5R340B, I am planning to use CHIRP on both Windows 10 and Linux (Debian distro), will it
be a problem for CHIRP to import or export the IMG files between platform. As you know Redmond is very notorious to introduce "NULL" character and and unwanted charactes inside a file while exporting or importing any file in Windows 10. I see that working on a Linux environment the CHIRP software is very smooth and works seemless.

Any thoughts.

TIA
Simon

Sorry, took a while to respond. No, as long as the image is from the same radio (or at least from a radio with the same firmware), it will work regardless of which operating system you use to feed it into your radio. The images are not depending on the operating system, they depend on what the radio needs to see.

I re-targeted this ticket as "bug", because this isn't really the request for a new model :-)
We will close it in a short while.
