Bug #7691
closedProblem programming Baofeng UV82C

Description
I'm programming a repeater for a tone mode where both the transmit and receive tones are the same. I enter "Cross" and the "Tone" and "ToneSql" (146.2). When I "Upload to Radio" all appears correct. If I "Download from radio", I find that the tone mode is changed to "TSQL" and the "Tone" is blank while the "ToneSql" is 146.2. I don't get a reply from the repeater when I test this programming.
On much older versions of CHIRP, I was able to program the repeater to "Cross" not "TSQL" in the case where both tones are the same. With the older version, I was able to get a reply from the repeater.
What's up????

Hi Rick,
CHIRP is changing it because Tone Mode = TSQL and ToneSql = 146.1 is the correct way to program a channel with RX and TX using the same CTCSS tone. The only reason you would use Tone Mode = Cross and Cross Mode = Tone->Tone is when you want RX and TX to use CTCSS but the CTCSS tone for each is different. See either one of the guides linked to "here":http://www.miklor.com/COM/UV_CHIRP.php#guides (6.1 and 6.2).
