Hi I use my beofeng gt3 and wanted to use chirp on linux mint everything I have tried does nothing is there no program install link

Unfortunately you didn't mention which version of Linux Mint. CHIRP is not compatible with Mint 20 (or Ubuntu 20.04) out-of-the-box because Python2 and other Python2 related dependencies have been removed. There have been discussions in the chirp_users mailing list and other groups for how to get it to work.

You may want to search the tickets for "flatpack" - some list instructions to make Chirp work on new Ubuntu type distros.
