openRugged Radios RH16C-U (Rebadged TYT X1U)

Description
The RH16C-U could already be supported under a different model, but I haven't found one that works. When I try the settings "Rugged" / "RH5X", I get the error "not the amount of data we were looking for", which is better than no communication at all.
The RH16C-U is a rebadged TYT X1U, and it's probably related to the BF-888 and later BF-C2, but that's speculation on my part.
Is there any way to log the serial datastream in CHIRP so I can debug where it's going wrong?

There's a document explaining the serial capture process under Linux: DevelopersUSB Sniffing in Linux.
Under Windows, you would use "portmon" as described in this document: http://chirp.danplanet.com/attachments/2257/how%20to%20portmon.doc.
However, "portmon" only runs on a 32bit Windows OS. Portmon will not work on 64bit systems; Microsoft never released any 64-bit version. If you only have a 64 bit version of Windows, then you may want to try this (free) software instead: http://www.windmill.co.uk/serial.html. Let us know if this worked for you!
