Bug #8443
closedBaofeng UV5R...Chirp...bluetooth port?...
0%
Description
I just downloaded the latest CHIRP update and now I can't link my Baofeng UV5R in any way.
Strangely it appears to me as a communications port only Bluetooth and before if my COM ports appeared.
I use Mac with High Sierra 10.13.6.
Is it a bug in this version of CHIRP? Is there a solution?
Hoping to read some solution and thank you very much.
Greetings from Chile.

It would seem you don't have a properly configured programming cable. Otherwise you would have a serial port selection.
If you installed the legacy CHIRP MacOS Application, then you must also install the KK7DS Python runtime for Mac OSX (see "CHIRP download page":https://chirp.danplanet.com/projects/chirp/wiki/Download).
If you have a programming cable containing a Prolific USB-to-Serial chip, you will most likely have to purchase a 3rd party device driver (see "mac-usb-serial.com":https://mac-usb-serial.com/).
Also look at the CHIRP "MacOS Tips":https://chirp.danplanet.com/projects/chirp/wiki/MacOS_Tips wiki page.

Unfortunately I have done everything that has been indicated to me. I have tried different drivers for the Baofeng USB cable and there is no case .... it still indicates that the only available port is "/dev/cu.bluetooth-Incoming-Port".
I do not know what to do....
