Bug #8905
closedCHIRP 4.1.1 (2020-04-06) - Windows download virus detections
0%
Description
When scanning the download direct from CHIRP software engines report the trojan virus *W32.AIDetect.malware2*as a part of the .exe file and in the MSI files.
I suggest software validation with the Microsoft store or ensuring malicious code is removed from the program before compiling.

There has never been a CHIRP 4.1.1 released. If you mean CHIRP 0.4.1, this was the last of what was called a CHIRP stable build released 7 years ago. These so-called "stable" builds are no longer created. All CHIRP releases since CHIRP v0.4.1 (10-8-2014) are versioned as "CHIRP daily YYYYMMDD". There was also no CHIRP daily build released on 2020-04-06. The current build is CHIRP daily-20210310. I'm guessing that if you bring up the Help -> About dialog box, you will see Copyright 2013. It is very unlikely that this program built back in 2014 included a virus that was first seen a week ago.

Probably false positive.
