Description

When I go to the tab to "Download info from RADIO" the first requirement is to list the port to be used. First I don't know what to enter, everything gives me an "ERROR" and besides I am using USB to connect to my Baofeng UV-5R radio.

If after clicking "Port" there is not on already populated in CHIRP, then you don't have a properly configured serial port available yet. You either either have not plugged in your programming cable yet, you have plugged in your programming cable but a compatible device driver has not been installed yet, or a device driver has been installed but it is not compatible with the USB-to-Serial chip built in to your programming cable.

Until you have a working COM port available, CHIRP (or any other programming software) cannot work.

Review this "Miklor Cables & Drivers":https://www.miklor.com/COM/UV_Drivers.php page.
