Description
Have also found if you change the r code from the default 88.5 and save the file then reopen it the r codes come back to default of 88.5. this also happens to the t code but not on the same memory line . both issues are random and do not occur on every memory channel line. some lines it's the r code will not save, others the r code will save but the t code will not. I cut and pasted my uv5r file on to the UVB5 factory template ,uploaded to radio, saved the file as a uvb5 file(this was using the factory uvb5 file as base template) reopened file and the r codes (random) and random t codes were back to 88.5 factory defaults. tried this several times
always the same results

Randy,
If you don't have "Smart Tone Modes" enabled, then only the tone columns that are selected by the Tone Mode column with retain the entered value. Columns that aren't selected will revert back to the default value. For example, if you have Tone Mode set to Tone, then the Tone column is selected for use but the ToneSql column is not. Only tones entered in the Tone column will stay.
There are a couple of ways that you can figure out which columns are being used. You can visit the Miklor.com website and take a look at the CHIRP guide that is available there. It tries to show the relationship that the columns have with each other. Another would be click View in the menu bar and then enable Hide Unused Fields. When you do this, the 88.5 in the ToneSql column of the example above will disappear.
