Description

hello, I've noticed few issues with TYT TH-UVF8D support in CHIRP with some values, for example modifying the column for Skip with "S" values does not have any effect in the radio channels with CHRIP, also the channels with "S" in "Skip" column are not preserver in the same order if you insert a new row and save data to the radio (I guess due the radio ignores the Skip values saved with CHIRP).

another thing I've noticed is that the feature for "Tail Mode" is not present inside the "Settings" in CHIRP, but this option exists in the official TYT software in English inside "Optional Features".

Do one of the following

  1. Attach two CHIRP Radio Images (*.img) files the only difference between them is that Skip is set to "S" on a particular memory on one and Skip is set to "" on the same memory of the other.
  2. Attach a single CHIRP Radio Images (*.img) file with 2 adjacent identically programmed memories except 1 is programmed with Skip set to "S" and the other with Skip set to "".

Open a separate ticket for the Tail Mode setting.

Hmm, I'm a bit confused. MELERIX . did you generate these images with chirp only, or did you use the radio itself (or the OEM software) to set the skip bit and then download it with chirp. From what I can see, chirp sets/clears the S properly (as far as it is concerned). If it's setting the wrong thing, we need examples of the correct way, which can only come from setting the flag on the radio or with the OEM software.

yes, these images were generated entirely in CHIRP NEXT.

so I'll going to generate the frequencies with OEM, then download radio in CHIRP NEXT and upload new images here in few minutes more :P

Hah, okay, well, even we could do that :)

Great, thanks, that's what we'll need :)

Hmm, okay, multiple things changed there, but here's my guess. Try this module and see if channels you edit properly reflect skip status in the radio. You have to change something about each memory, or create a new one for it to take effect.

ok, module loaded, I've created two extra channels, one without S and one with S, uploaded the changes to the radio, and now the changes in S and without S are reflected in the radio properly and also in OEM software.
