I read the instructions above:
Description
Having problem with USB port in Linux and when using documentation to address USB port problem,
I followed this link- http://chirp.danplanet.com/projects/chirp/wiki/Running_Under_Linux
It suggests- "sudo usermod -aG dialout username" to which Linux Mint reacts with a command options list, which I think means there is an error in my syntax.
When I use "sudo usermod -a -G dialout username" it seems to be accepted.
Unfortunately it didn't solve my problem but I am guessing there is a typo in the help file,, or perhaps Linux Mint may be particularly sensitive to this syntax?
