Description

When programming the IC-V80, without any error notices, programming proceeds well. However, the written memory locations do not have tone enabled (or maybe the correct subtone frequency). Interestingly, when bringing in a hand-programmed clone image, those locations that were hand programmed do write correctly back to the radio. So, chirp is usable for cloning, but not really for programming from scratch.

The image *0403.img has all memories that originally were programmed in the radio (although the station names were added in Chirp) + 2 more put in the "spreadsheet" in chirp. When you write this image, the radio memory locations for those 2 additional are in the radio, but the tone is not turned on. In the V80, it appears that one cannot edit a memory manually, so essentially you can't work with the fact that MOST of the parameters have been inserted by CHIRP.

The image *0403.img just has memories originally put in manually, and it writes correctly.
