Grazie

Please attach a CHIRP Radio Images (*.img) file that was saved from your radio.

Thank for the file. It appears that Retevis has revised the R627B's Time-Out-Timer function. It seems to be different in your radio from what the sample that they provided to me for CHIRP development. I will need you help with resolving this.
Please access menu 9 (TOT) in your RB27B and make a list the available choices.
In my RB627B they are...
30S/60S/90S/120S/150S/180S (there is no OFF choice)
I have a feeling that your RB627B includes an OFF choice which would put all of the Time-out-timer settings off by one and the 180S setting out of range (which is what is causing the error).
So to be able to temporarily work around the problem for now, use the radio's menu to set menu 9 (TOT) to 150S or less. This should make the selected value in range allowing the settings tabs to show up without any errors.
Once you provide me with a list of the actual menu 9 settings choices that are available in your radio, I will work on permanent solution and provide it here for you to test.

Hi, MENU 9:
30 / 60 / 90 / 120 / 150 / 180
I explain you what I have done.
I read the radio like a Boafeng BF-T8 for add channels and frequencies.
I wrote the configuration to my RB627B, after with the original Retevis Software I read the radio, inserted channel names and wrote to the radio.
I make a rest default settings from the device but I don't have OFF option....Why???
In a original RT627B I have OFF option...I am very worried I have damaged it...
Thank you
Regards

BF-T8 || OFF | 30S | 60S | 90S | 120S | 150S | 180S
RB627B || 30S | 60S | 90S | 120S | 150S | 180S | ----
The Baofeng BF-T8 supports OFF and shifts the timer values by one bit each. While using the BF-T8 selection to program the RB627B, if the TOT setting is changed to 180S, it is not valid for RB627B. The RB627B only used bits 0x00-0x05. When using the BF-T8 selection to edit an RB626B radio, you cannot set the Time-Out_timer setting to TOT = 180S (0x06 is not valid for RB627B and causes the error). You must select no higher than 150S (which would then be 180S in the RB627B radio).
So just use the BF-T8 selection to set TOT to 150S and then upload the change to your RB727B radio. Then use the RB627B selection to download into CHIRP. The error should be gone and Time-Out-Timer will be set to TOT = 180S.

I have a new RB627B Radio on the box and she has OFF in the TOT menu but the RB627B original programming software doesn't have OFF...very strange...

If I make a "reset" from the radio menu all settings return to factory?
Or If I upload a factory settings with RB627B original programming software radio return like factory?

Developer mode (and the browser tab specifically) is for developers, not users. Making changes in the browser can cause serious damage to your radio as none of the values are checked.

Ok but I have different frequencies and I must put the same frequence in TX and RX...how?

Is this related to this RB627 bug? If not, we should take it elsewhere. Since it sounds like a usage issue, the mailing list is the proper place (see How_To_Get_Help).
Putting a frequency in the frequency column and setting duplex to empty (i.e. neither +, -, etc) results in the radio having the same frequency for TX and RX.

Because the radio has a bug. It is not uncommon in these cheap radios. Mine doesn't have an OFF, the factory software doesn't have an OFF, that why CHIRP was programmed without an OFF for the RB27B, RB27V and RB627B. The Retevis RB27, Baofeng BF-T8 and BTECH FRS-A1 does so CHIRP supports it for those models.
This ticket is related to the TOT timer setting, which from what I have seen in this discussion, is working as expected. Programming the radio using BF-T8 and setting the TOT setting to what will be an out-of-range value when choosing the correct model is not a CHIRP bug.
If you want to program your RB627B as a full band radio, either continue to use the BF-T8 selection (and set TOT to 150S to get 180S in your radio) or open another ticket to request full band support for this model.

Hi, for your information the answer from Retevis:
The menu 9 TOT setting of this radio, if you manually select 30s or the official software setting 30s, it is actually OFF, and the transmission time is not limited; if you choose 60s, it will be limited
The radio is designed like this, or it can be set to off with third-party software, but the machine will display 30s, and it does not affect the use

OK. I have confirmed that 30S is actually OFF and the 60S is actually 60 seconds.
RB627B || 30S | 60S | 90S | 120S | 150S | 180S | ----
Actual || OFF | 60S | | | | |
Would you do the testing for the other 5 values. That would help a lot since I am juggling about 6 other issues right now.

- File rb627b_fix_tot.py rb627b_fix_tot.py added
- Assignee set to Jim Unroe
- Target version set to chirp-py3
- Model affected changed from RB627B to RB627B RB27B RB27V
I got a chance to test the rest. They are as follows...
RB27 || OFF | 30S | 60S | 90S | 120S | 150S | 180S
RB627B || 30S | 60S | 90S | 120S | 150S | 180S | ----
Actual || OFF | 60S | 90S | 120S | 150S | 180S | 210S
It is when the radio is set to the value '210S' that the TOT menu displays 'OFF' (and disappears once you scroll through the legitimate choices).
I have attached a test driver module that modifies the TOT setting to match the way it is implemented in the radio, not the way the menu itself (incorrectly) displays how it is implemented. To test the changes follow the instructions here: LoadingTestModules

Hi, I have a last question. When I write a chirp configuration, it overwrites all?
Every time I write all configuration is it overwritten?
If I make a reset from radio menu, it returns like factory?
Thak you

yes

no. Often called a 'factory reset', its state is usually not the same as how the radio shipped from the factory. For example a UV-5R comes from the factory speaking English. After a reset, the radio speaks Chinese. This is why I am careful to always capture a CHIRP image from a new radio while it is still in its 'factory' state. Uploading this image back to the radio is the only way that I know of to return the radio back to its 'factory' delivered state.

So is TOT working OK for you while using this test driver module?

Hi, no, I have not tried because now radio works good and I am very worried to make new issues...
I read the radio like a RB627B, I wrote all 16 channels names and I wrote configuration.
After I read like a Boafeng BF-T8 and I added others channels and I set power high....after I wrote configuration.
After I read like RB27 and I wrote all channels names and I wrote.
The problem is some channels have "OFF" in duplex column, I wrote another time BF-T8 saved configuration and now it works!
Crazy procedure...
Is it possibile to set TX and RX tones different? I see only 1 column "tone squelch"...
