Need to add the field to activate/override Busy Channel Lockout (BCL). I see it in Dev Mode though.

Provide a *.ing file with 2 channels. One with BCL enabled and one with BCL not enabled using the factory software. Also test to make sure that it works. There's got to be a reason that BCL was only added for Retevis RT22 and RT622.

Hi Jim. I can't override BCL, there is no field showing this option on the Zastone's software (original manufacturer). The only software that allows you to override BCL - I've heard - is the one from RT Systems. .img file attached.

This makes sense. Since all I have is the Retevis RT22, so I had no way of testing if the other radios supported BCL, or not. So with the software not supporting BCL, I assumed that the radio didn't support it so I only enabled it for RT22 (for which the software did support BCL).

You should be able to read and write to your radio with the Retevis RT22 vendor/model selections. Do this and then program one or more channels with BCL enabled. Then confirm that BCL works. If it does, I will make it available for KD-C1 and similar models.

Hi Jim, thank you for you reply. It did work with Retevis RT22FRS only, did not work with RT22. I have attached the file and you will see frequencies with and without BCL. There is even one more field called "Signal" under "Properties>Extra", do you know what it is for? Again thank you for your help.

Yes. Now that I look closer, RT22FRS and RT622 only enables BCL. Did you test BCL? Does it work? I seem to recall that it did not work on my RT22 and that is why it was not included.

I have enabled BCL and Signal for the KD-C1 (and variants) for testing. I have no idea what Signal does. You can play with Signal to see if you can figure it out.

Please load and test with the attached test driver module. Here is how: LoadingTestModules

Don't forget to upload you original *.img file back into your radio.

OK, so I loaded the test module, read the radio using WLN KD-C1 (not Retevis) and noticed that the BCL column is now added. I tested enbaliog and disabling and it works on the radio after writing to it. Anything else I need to do? Thank you for this. I have attached the debug log in case you need it. I didn't understand when you said "don't forget to loead the original .img file back to your radio", do I need to do that, because I read from the radio so I guess I don't need the original .img file anymore?

I didn't notice until after I had you test with the RT22FRS selection that the driver writes a radio ID in memory for the RT22FRS and the RT622 during the upload. I just wanted to get that changed back to the way that it was.

So if you don't have the original .img file, you can just use the file that you uploaded here. Load it into CHIRP to create 'tab 1'. Then load your current image to create 'tab 2'. Then copy-and-paste the channels from 'tab 2' to 'tab 1'. Then upload to your radio. It will then be back like it was.
