Description
OSX-10.9.2
New FTDI cable purchased through CHIRP reference link to KAWA Mall - USB Programming Cable for Yaesu VX-8DR VX-8R VX-8
Driver shows up as:
USB-Serial Controller:
Product ID: 0x2303
Vendor ID: 0x067b (Prolific Technology, Inc.)
Version: 3.00
Speed: Up to 12 Mb/sec
Manufacturer: Prolific Technology Inc.
Location ID: 0x14200000 / 25
Current Available (mA): 500
Current Required (mA): 100
Follow setup procedure on the radio
Select Mac port as - /dev/cu.Bluetooth-Incoming-Port (this may be wrong, but it's the only choice - only other one is /dev/cu.Bluetooth-Modem)
Am I missing the correct driver?

- Platform changed from Windows to MacOS
You do not appear to be using the right serial interface.
It should be something like /dev/cu.usbserial.... or /dev/cu.pl2303....
You can try this driver:
http://1drv.ms/Nl68Ru
(You will need to do ctrl+right-click, then open, then accept warning to get past mac gatekeeper)

Oh also, you state that you have an ftdi cable, but then you show information for a prolific cable.
So it is not clear as to which kind of cable you have (prolific or ftdi)
For sure, you don't want the bluetooth interface.

Download issue resolved - thanks to great assistance from the Chirp team.
Much appreciated

I am having this same issue and none of the fixes I have found have worked. I am using OS mavericks. Same two options for the connection port as this previous issue. Both bluetooth or modem. I am a complete noob at this and am ready to pull out wha is left of my hair. Any help would be appreciated.

I should state that my problem is with the UV5RA. Exactly the same issue though

It sounds like you haven't installed the driver that is compatible with the chip in your programming cable. Take a look at the "MacOS_Tips":http://chirp.danplanet.com/projects/chirp/wiki/MacOS_Tips page.

I am getting the following error pop up on my MacBook Air: could not open port /dev/cu.usbserial-A703QM1L: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/dev/cu.usbserial-A703QM1L'
Please advise
