Description

I am running Windows7 and CHIRP daily-20160110. I am using brand-new a Valley Enterprises FTDI cable to connect a Kenwood TH-F6 unit. I plug in the cable - both ends, with the radio off, start Chirp (version CHIRP daily-20160110) and turn the radio on. Then I click "Radio" and then "Download From Radio" The "Radio" box appears, and the information is "COM3" "Kenwood" and "TH-F6".

I click okay, and the program dies. No progress bar, no nothing...

After repeated attempts to link to the radio, the Debug Log says "chirp.errors.RadioError: No response from radio"

Edward,

I upgraded the CHIRP on my Windows 7 computer to CHIRP daily-20160110, plugged in my FTDI programming cable into my computer and let the device driver install (I usually use my Prolific based programming cable), plugged the 2-pin plug into my radio and then read my Kenwood TH-F6a with CHIRP just fine.

Do you have Access Menu No. 9 (SP/MIC JACK) set to PC (page 45 of my manual)?
