Description

Have 3 UV-5R's and they all work great with each other, using the loaded CHIRP frequency table. Expanded to add 2 UV-5R5s, and they won't accept the Chirp frequency table and when I manually load the one critical frequency we need, and transmit from the 5R5's, the 5R's receive it, but the 5R5's will not receive any transmissions from the 5R's or the other 5R5.

I am not sure that I am correctly loading the frequency in the 5R5's. I am simply putting the single frequency in the readout...is there more to it than that? Can the 5R5's be made to work with the Chirp table?

Thanks!

I have two UV-5R5's and didn't have any issues with programming at all, nor with communicating with other radios - and I have truck loads of them. Not surprisingly I wonder what can be so special about your situation / setup.

Sounds like you programmed a receive CTCSS tone or DCS code on the new radio and none of the other radios are transmitting the matching tone. That is exactly how selective squelch is supposed to work.
