I've just ordered an FT-2900R and would love to see CHIRP support. I have linux server available via ssh which I can provide access to a developer with this ft-2900r connected if it helps.

Unfortunately Yaesus require front panel access for programming.

I am a programmer in my day job, though I am new to CHIRP and have only a passing familiarity with Python. However, I just recently bought an FT-2900, and I have decided to take a crack and making it work. Between my day job and family issues, I don't get much time for this, and I'll also have some learning curve issues, so I can't say much about a schedule right now. But I'm putting this note in here as an announcement that I'm getting started. If someone else finds this note and is tempted to look at this, please contact me, ag6qr at sonic dot net.

This issue appears to be a duplicate of issue #925.

To Dan Smith,

I live in the Portland, OR area and in a couple of weeks I should be able to lend my FT-2900 to you or someother developer in the area. Let me know.
