closed5 Tone ZVEI1 codes not working for BTECH UV-2501

Description
I used the newest Chirp software (version dated 20161208) to program the BTECH UV-2501 3Gen (bought in October 2016) with 5-Tone ZVEI1 tones.
I need that UV-2501 sends the PTT-ID code '00407' in ZVEI1 format at BOT.
I made several tests with the latest Chirp software and also with Baofeng UV-5001&2501_CPS but the UV-2501 keeps sending out only the DMTF frequencies. The 5-tone ZVEI1 frequencies are not emitted.
I have no other transmitter to check this behaviour.

Hi, in the owner's manual for BTEC UV-2501 https://baofengtech.com/usermanual/2501-5001-manual.pdf on page 25 there's a note about 2Tone to be saved in order that 5Tone can work. However I consider this note just a bad translation of bad use of copy-paste. However, to be on the safe side, I also performed the 2Tone programming of the radio, as per instructions in the document https://baofengtech.com/pdf/BTECH-2Tone.pdf
I did the above mentioned programming with Chirp software and Baofeng UV-5001&2501_vip_CPS. None of these programmings did persuade the radio to start emitting the ZVE1 tones. Attached are the respective image files.

Hi Marko,
If the factory software fails to program this, then either the factory software has a bug (CHIRP reverse engineers the factory software so it would obviously copied that bug) or there is a bug in the radio itself.
Unless the ZVE1 tones can be made to work with the factory software, there isn't much that can be done from CHIRP end to resolve the issue.

Hello Jim, thanks for fast feedback.
Based on your response I contacted BaoFeng Tech Support. Unfortunately they did not provide a solution how to activate the 5-Tone functionality. However, I can send the device back and get a full refund.

The BaoFeng Tech Support came back with the info that 2Tone and 5Tone can be activated only by pressing the "Call" button on the radio unit. The 2Tone and 5Tone can't be transmitted by pressing PTT button.
I checked it and it really works this way: 5Tone sequence(s) is(are) transmitted when the Call button is pressed. I have to admit that this is also stated in the radio user manual - but very briefly in the chapter headlines, so I completely overlooked this detail.
For my application this functionality, as it is implemented in UV-2501, is not useful; I need 5Tone sequence to be emitted when I press the PTT.
This defect can be marked resolved.
