CHIRP

I obtained an earlier version Yaesu FT-817 from a local ham. When I go to settings, CW and put my call in the Callsign and upload to the radio it does not change from his call. This is menu item 31. I tried a CPU Master Reset and did a fresh download from the radio. Changed the CW ID to my call and uploaded. Menu item 31 did not change but stayed at the factory default of Yaesu. I can program memory positions and change other settings. I am using Chirp 20170124 on a windows 10 platform. Any suggestions?
