Description

The TYT UV8000 series radios have suddenly become very popular as the 5W-10W version of multi-band handhelds. It would be more efficient to focus the UV8000 series radios on the new TYT-UV8000SE as it also has the 220MHz band and all other functionality that the other UV8000 series radios include, except for crossband repeater functionality that many of them have. I'm offering up my prized UV8000SE for anybody that would like to tackle the UV8000 CHIRP support. I own 16 different Chinese handhelds and the TYT UV8000SE is by far my favorite.
Thank you so much for all that you do for the community.

Note: I have an extensive Memory Map and captures available that I performed on my UV-8000D attached to the "New Model #4437" ticket.

I can collect any data or perform tests if required.

  • Chirp Version changed from 0.4.0 to daily

The CHIRP driver for the TYT TH-UV8000D/E has been released. It should perform 95% of the SE functions. Please try it with your SE version and let me know what needs an update. The only thing I know for sure is that the 220MHz freq range disable function is greyed out. Please send me a downloaded img file if you can.
