Description

Chirp says to us the UV-82HP/82DX/82HX to program the GT-5TP but I get the same issue as everybody else "incorrect model selected" The manufacturer states it is a programming software issue. Does anyone know how to fix this? I'm sure everyone here is waiting for an answer.

I experienced the same issue with my GT-5TP. After downloading the Baofeng UV-82VIP software (found here https://baofengtech.com/software/UV82HP_CPS.zip) I was able to program my radio seamlessly. Downside, I had to manually enter the information, as I did not have enough free time last night to experiment with how to import files. That being said, it took me less than 10 minutes to program over 40 channels.

Hope this helps.

I am also having this issue with CHIRP and the GT-5TP radio using the UV-82HP setting the problem is that it was working two days ago.
Now I am getting the wrong model issue.
The UV82HP_CPS is workable but not as user friendly as the CHIRP.
Is there any possibility of a fix coming soon?
Thanks

Also when I tried to upload a file to a a new radio using chirp (even though it would not download) I got a message about firmware versions.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

The problem is that your radios respond, as they should, to the "magic" that tells a UV-82HP style radio to initiate cloning, then your radios reply back in a manner that indicates to CHIRP that they are UV-5R style radios. Until a solution is found, you will have to use the factory programming software.

The strange thing is it chirp was working just fine until three days ago.
