Description
My receive backlight on my Baofeng UV-5R does not time out while receiving. I am tuned to the NOAA frequency. It does turn off when transmission ends on other frequencies.
My other Baofeng UV-5RV3+ does time out while on the NOAA channel.
Is this a quirk of this radio?

Sounds like a hardware issue. Adjust the ABR setting from the keypad or using the Baofeng software to see if there is a difference.
