cannot write to radio its not high lighted is that because i need do donate? i can read radio.

No donation is require to use CHIRP. You've not provided enough information to provide help.
Once you download from the radio, can you immediately upload it back to the same radio? If not, what is the error message?
It would also help if you would attach the downloaded image. A copy of the debug.log file would also be helpful. This "page":https://chirp.danplanet.com/projects/chirp/wiki/How_to_report_issues explains how to locate the debug.log file in any of CHIRP's supported operating systems.
