Description

I am trying to program a Baofeng UV-5R with CHIRP, and when I attempt to download from the Radio, the dialog screen reads Port: COM3, Vendor: Baofeng, Model: UV-5R. When I hit the OK button, I get a COM3: [Error 2] The system cannot find the file specified message. What can I do to remedy the problem?

You don't have the programming cable/driver fully/correctly installed. Try rebooting. If that doesn't fix it check Device Manager to see what it shows. If the programming cable has a Prolific type chip in it, have you downloaded, installed and selected the older Prolific v3.2.0.0 driver that is needed (the driver automatically installed by Windows is incompatible).
