Per the IssueInstructions you indicated you read, we need a debug log in order to look at this. Please see How_To_Report_Issues .

One last try:
Please reproduce the behavior you're experiencing and then update this bug from within chirp (don't file a new one). Both the image you uploaded and the csv file you attached here open fine for me and the other debug log (assuming it was for the same issue) have no errors in them.

- Model affected changed from Baofeng gt57 to Baofeng GT-5R
Graham, You cannot double click a CHIRP Radio Images ( *.img
) file to open it in Windows. This is because the default association for the " *.img
" extension in Windows is for a file that stores a raw disc image (such as floppy disks, hard drives, and optical discs). So double clicking it causes Windows to attempt to mount the CHIRP file as a file system within Windows, which fails because it is not a disc image. If you want to be able to double-click the file to be launched in CHIRP, you will have to update the Windows association for this extension yourself, and be responsible for any consequences of making the change.
Otherwise, you will have to launch CHIRP and use File -> Open... or File -> Open Recent to load the file.

Thanks for that Jim. I didn't know what app opens .img files. I even downloaded Winzip but that was no use either. But thanks to you we are good to go. Yes I was trying to open the file outside Chirp.
