Description
Tried and got on windows 10 with the supplied icom cable (OPC-2350LU)
51A & ID-51A Plus: Failed to communicate with the radio. Unexpected response from radio
Detect: Serial bject has no attribute 'get_payload'
I do some python software programming and can help out if you want to give me a few hints and access to the source.

The ID-51 and ID-51+ radios are definitely supported (I have the former).

Some additional feedback:
Some Icom radios are known to deny cooperation with FTDI cables (even genuine ones). Please try a cable with a genuine Prolific chip.
Unfortunately cables with fake "Prolific" chips make the vast majority of cables on the market; genuine Prolific cables are on the more expensive side.
