Description

This a new model being sold by Banggood. It appears to be similar to the UV5R but with more transmit power and slight styling changes. It is a tri-band model. I have tried all existing Baofeng models support by Chirp but download does not work with any of them.

Sorry a typo on the model number, it is a BF-X9.

It is basically a variant of the Baofeng UV-S9. The correct Vendor/Model would be Radioddity/UV-5RX3.

CHIRP won't be able to download from the radio until you resolve your issue with the programming cable.

#1 cause of trouble: incompatible device driver installed/selected
#2 cause of trouble: 2-pin plug of programming cable not fully inserted/connected with socket in radio
#3 cause of trouble: wrong COM port selected

Take a look at this "USB Cable & Drivers":https://www.miklor.com/COM/UV_Drivers.php page.

Yes, Jim was right about the Vendor/Model to use, all good now. A Google search prior to this issue creation had failed to show that gem and I would have never guessed to try Radioddity models. Hopefully Google will index this issue for future BF-X9 owners. I guess an alias could be added to a future version of chirp or a note added to the supported radio list.

From my perspective we can close off this issue.

Thanks for the prompt response guys :-)
