I read the instructions above:

Description

I have changed the driver on the cable to the 2007 PROLIFIC driver following the MIKLOR website. I connect my radio to the PC and the light turns solid red for about 20 seconds, then starts to flash. After another few seconds the light stops flashing and the display stays lit up. This is when I try to "Download From Radio".

I have tried the following models in CHIRP but none of them work:

  • Baofeng UV-5R
  • Baofeng UV-5X
  • BTech UV5X3
  • MTC UV-5R-3
  • Radioddity UV-5RX3

This is a link to the radio: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/142368226655

Holding down 3 and powering on, the firmware shows as: 3B5Rv01

I either get the messages "Radio did not respond" or "Error reading data from radio: not the amount of data we want.", depending on what model I try when selecting "Download From Radio". I am using COM port 4 which is the correct port for the Prolific device depending on which USB port I use. Device Manager says the Prolific device is using driver version 3.2.0.0.

The cable is in all the way, I have pushed as hard as I can and the plastic part of the cable does not touch the sides of the port.
